Protection of young people

 

Manufacturers and importers of vaping products are not aiming to sell to the youth. According to EU data, the use of vaping devices among young people who have not previously smoked remains low and there is no evidence that the use of vaping products leads to more young smokers.

 

EAVI supports measures that reduce youth access to vaping products and make them less attractive, while at the same time preserving vaping harm reduction for those who need it.

 

 

  • EAVI supports a minimum purchase age of 18 for all vaping products.
  • Importers are responsible for providing training and information about the content and rules of sale of vape devices to everyone in the distribution chain with the necessary brochures, catalogs, menus.
  • Conducting a merchant compliance verification program – both in physical and online stores – through the use of mystery shoppers.
  • Marketing balance – following the marketing code of EAVI
